Narelle’s passion for health and fitness led her to living the dream of running her own Personal Training business. An accomplished professional sprinter, Narelle has won 18 races during her career, highlights include:
- 1998 Stawell Ladies 100m Gift,
- 1998 Ballarat Ladies 120m Gift,
- 1998 Maryborough Ladies 120m Gift & 400m,
- 2009 Bendigo Ladies 400m,
- 2010 Keilor Ladies 120m Gift,
- 2011 Daylesford 100m Gift & Bendigo Ladies 120m Gift.
- 2012 Australian Masters Champion, 60m, 100m, 200m, 4x400m relay.
- 2013 Australian Masters Champion 60m,100m, 4x100m&4x400m relay
Narelle continues to compete at this elite level with ongoing success.
“As a 37 year old mother of 2 children and an accomplished professional sprinter I was continually asked how I kept fit? How many hours did I spend in the gym? What type of training did I do? How did I find the time?
Well the answers were - I spent no time in the gym, I did specific training with minimal equipment and I combined my strength and cardio training to make the most of the limited time I had. I also took my children with me to most sessions. I believe this sets a great example for our children, to see their parents being active. Then I realised I could educate and share my training ideas with others. This led me to completing my cert 3 & 4 in Fitness and Personal Training.”
Now at 42, I have been sharing my training techniques with clients for over 4 years.
Narelle’s philosophy - Consistency is the key. It is so much harder to get fit than to stay fit. Train smart and listen to your body. You need to know the difference between training pain and injury pain.
Favourite exercises – Definitely push ups and lunges. You just can’t ever do too many!! And core, I am very big on core strength and its benefits, not just for athletes but for every body!
Julie is a highly qualified and experienced Personal Trainer, having moved to Ballarat for a tree change, Julie ran her own PT studio on the Eyre Penninsular in South Australia and brings a great deal of knowledge and, most importantly, fabulous people skills.
Specialising in Pilates instruction and strength training as well as regular Personal Training requirements, Julie's passion for the fitness industry extends to her own life and is an avid distance runner.
